BWA Project Manager Morrie Zimmerman will co-present a training workshop at the 2012 Homes Within Reach Conference. From December 3rd to 5th in Harrisburg, PA, this year’s event will focus on tackling blight, ending homelessness, and expanding development opportunities.

Stop by on Tuesday, December 4th to hear Morrie speak about lessons learned from Connelly House, a LEED Gold, eight-story, multi-use building in downtown Philadelphia that provides 79 units of affordable, supportive housing for formerly homeless adults and facilities for non-profits Bethesda Project and Project H.O.M.E.

Creating Meaningful Design in Communities (D8)
2:30-4:00pm Tuesday 12/4

Affordable housing development has a mixed record in fostering continuity and positive change in challenged neighborhoods, often harming rather than improving the quality of neighborhood life. Learn proven community design tools, ways to engage with community stakeholders, and the value of working with the physical, economic and social context of a development so that your development team can play a greater role in connecting and restoring communities.
